Gany’bu ga ganŋal 45E
For a longtime people have caught guya with gany’bu (fish net) made from gunga(pandanus) or balwurr (bush string). In this design the ganŋal (catfish) are swimming around the gany’bu (fish net) in the water.
Dhaŋgi (bark) is used to poison the water and the fish then become red in the eyes. The bark makes the water turn black. The ganŋal (catfish) are caught in the fish trap. The people go into the water to collect the fish.
The background represents the freshwater at Wandawuy. A Djapu clan estate.
