As told by the artist :

The underneath lines and design represent the saltwater at Biranybirany which is the artist’s homeland.
The guya (fish) are Gunbirrwirr, who with the Bäru (crocodile) are the keepers of this place.
Although this design is the artist’s own, it is also the artist’s Mari (grandfathers) design from the Madarrpa clan.
