Djapu design 45D
As told by the artist:
‘The bottom right hand side miny’tji (design) is Wandawuy homeland. The place (waŋa) and gapu (water). It has a lot of names but one is Rinytjalŋu.
The top design is the mäna (shark). It is called Nambatjŋu, Dhambuthun, meaning the buku (head of the shark) When you look down the airstrip at Wandawuy the head is there.
The bottom left design is Gurralayla (freshwater for Djapu clan).’
