30 x 40cm Paper: BFK RIVES 57 x 76cm
This print was made as part of the Paul Machnik workshop held at Buku-Larrnggay print studio in 2013. Using a technique new to the art centre – aluminium plates with a malleable white ground medium etched in a copper sulphate bath – the artist drew two complementary images, one of the sun setting and one of the sun rising. Walu means sun and the Yolngu call the rays of the sun Wana which translates into English as arms.
