Riny’tjaŋu
For a long time all the old people go out to collect riny’tjaŋu (yam) to eat. They cook them by burning the fire down to coals and cover them in hot sand, to test if they are ready the poke them with a small stick. Once cooked the riny’tjaŋu are peeled and crushed with a rock.
Riny’tjaŋu are found for harvesting all year round and taste like cassava.
