This print is of my mother’s totem, Djaykung (File Snake). The photo I used in this print is a photo of gapu (water), which also gives the bapi (snake) texture. I wanted to make to bapi look like it was underwater. I got my inspiration for this print by looking at all the different versions of bark paintings of the same story here at Buku-Larrnggay Mulka.
