I was born in Yirrkala and grew up in Yirrkala. I’m one of the grandchildren of land rights advocate (Roy Dadaynga Marika). He was awarded an OBE in 1971. Roy died in 1993. My parents are Witiyana Marika and Dipililnga Bukulatjpi. My father Witiyana is one of the original members of Yothu Yindi band and singer of traditional songs. I began to work in the Buku Print Space in 2014 and have learnt to make my own prints as well as edition the work of other artists. I can make linocuts, screenprints, woodblocks and etchings. I enjoy working at the art centre and would like to continue to learn and become an artist.
