Garrpathi is the eldest son of Bätja Marawili. Mum is Dhuraŋgal. His grandmother is revered Dhudi Djapu clan elder and artist Mulkuṉ Wirrpanda with whom Garrpathi was very close with when she was alive. He was involved in the 2020 woodblock project and produced a print called Djunuŋgayaŋu. Garrpathi was born in Yilpara homeland. He still lives there to this day. He does community work and hunting.
