Garrpathi is the eldest son of Bätja Marawili. His grandmother is revered DhudiDjapu clan elder and artist Mulkuṉ Wirrpanda with whom Garrpathi was very close with when she was alive. He was involved in the 2020 woodblock project and produced a print called Djunagaŋu. Garrpathi was born in Yilpara homeland. He still lives there to this day. He does community work and hunting.
